Disclosed is a method and system for dynamically generating three dimensional (3D) captcha buttons on a user interface (UI). The method and system dynamically generates the 3D captcha buttons and/or paths connecting the 3D captcha buttons for users to interpret and authenticate while performing one or more online operations or transactions. The authentication of users performing the one or more online operations is achieved using one or more techniques such as, but not limited to, combined traditional character obfuscation with 3D captcha buttons and path tracing of the 3D captcha buttons.

In a scenario, as shown in fig. 1, traditional character obfuscation combined with dynamically generated 3D captcha buttons allows users to enter captchas with simple button presses.

As illustrated in fig. 1, a user is requested to simply press raised buttons on the UI having a complete sign, such as for example, plus (+); for the system to accept the selected captcha as input. Thereafter, the 3D captcha button recedes into the display as a flat button, thereby providing an advantage to the user for easy cognition. Optionally subtle colors may be used for spokes indicating the plus sign for making the process more complex for a machine to understand and easier to users .
