Abstract

Consists of rubber nubs molded into the solid body of the rubber electrical test plugs to stand off the main body of the test plug from the interior floor of the pothead shipping cap. The nubs will absorb excessive axial pressure by compressing and or displacing into the area between the solid body of the rubber electrical test plug and the shipping cap floor. The rubber nubs will still provide an ample compression to the rubber electrical test plug to be able to perform high voltage electrical tests. What is illustrated are cylindrical nubs however they can be of almost any shape. This can also be accomplished with small coil spring(s), wave spring(s), or a compressible bladder. This can be used with all series of potheads and shipping caps.
