Method and System for Determining Strength of Relationship between Two Users

Disclosed is a method and system for determining strength of a relationship between two or more users. The method and system includes detecting amount of pupil dilation of the two or more users using image capturing devices.

In accordance with the method and system, a test and calibration phase is performed for adjusting image capturing device settings. The image capturing device may be a

web cam. An analysis engine monitors pupil dilation of each user during an interaction

of two users using a web cam as disclosed in the Figure.

The analysis engine includes obtains data from a behavioral engine that includes a history of user behavior statistics. The behavioral engine generates pupil dilation metrics for each user. For example, User 2 may be subconsciously affected if there is subconsciously perceptible pupil dilation of 2%. A minimum threshold value may be

ascertained by having User1 progressively increase pupil dilation. If there is reciprocal pupil dilation of User2 in response to User1, then that amount of pupil dilation is considered as minimum required dilation to sustain an interest of User1 with User2. Upon receiving the reciprocal pupil dilation from the User2, the analysis engine communicates with notification system to alert the User1.

The system may inform any of the users about lighting problems to recommend changes to achieve a sustained interest between the two users. One of the users may then implement the recommended changes to achieve the sustained interest.

Additionally, the system may determine monitor relationship between the two users and

periodically provide status about strength of the relationship. For example, if the system notices that there is a dead pan reaction from User2 (despite User1 giving a pupil dilation stimulus), then an alert may be sent to User1 stating that "this relationship is in difficulty".

In an embodiment, the method and system tracks parts of speech used in voice communication of the two users to determine the relationship strength between the two use...
