Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for suggesting alternate phrases to users during a communication between a plurality of users. The method and system includes monitoring the communication between the plurality of users in order to identify phrases that may create communication barriers between the plurality of users. The alternate phrases may be suggested to the users once such phrases are detected during the communication.

Disclosed is a method and system for suggesting alternate phrases to users during a communication between a plurality of users. The method and system includes monitoring the communication between the plurality of users in order to identify phrases that may create communication barriers between the plurality of users . The alternate phrases may be suggested to the users once such phrases are detected during the communication.

In accordance with the method and system, a communication between the plurality of users may be monitored as illustrated in the Figure.

The communication between the plurality of users may be one or more of , but not limited to, a phone call communication and an instant message communication .

Additionally, the method and system detects one or more user attributes such as one or

more of, but not limited to, geographical location, native language and dialect of the plurality of users during a conversation. Thereafter, a database of most frequently used phrases is built by analyzing prior communication of the plurality of users . The method and system monitors communication by caching irregular portions of the communication and detects communication barrier conditions by listening for key barrier phrases . For example, the key barrier phrases may be "could you please repeat that ?", "say again?", "I am sorry I do not understand you" and "Pardon". The communication barrier conditions may be detected from a history of the conversation .

Thereafter, communication barrier phrases from the conversation of at least one of plurality of users are detected. If a difficulty in communication is detected during the conversation of at least one of the users then clarifying phrases are determined .
