Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for displaying additional information pertaining to an image during an image search performed by a user. The additional information is obtained from user generated contents for a defined area range and time range. The area range and time range may be defined by using a template which allows the user to input parameters and search queries before performing the image search.

Displaying Additional Information During An Image Search

Disclosed is a method and system for displaying additional information pertaining to an image during an image search performed by a user. The additional information is obtained from user generated contents for a defined area range and time range. The area range and time range may be defined by using a template which allows the user to input parameters and search queries before performing the image search.

According to embodiments of the present invention, a user may be provided with a default template or a custom template. The template allows the user to input parameters and search queries that the user wants performed with an image search, as illustrated in the below Figure.

The template may be created based on a pre-defined rule. Also, the template may be provided with additional input parameters and search queries. The input parameters may be one or more of, but not limited to, location range, boundary range, time range, events, people visited, and road traffic. The search query assists the user in querying for more information pertaining to a particular image. For example, the user may want to know more about one or more of, but not limited to, location where the image was captured, time when the image was captured, approximate people present nearby while the image was captured, event organized in vicinity where the image was captured, and current weather condition in the area where the image was captured. Such information may be easily queried by the user by using the search queries.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the parameters and search queries are input to the template by the user before typing a keyword to perform the image search.
