Method and System for Generating One or More Action Items based on a Conversation

Disclosed is a method and system disclosed for listening to a conversation during a call initiated by a caller to identify one or more keywords and creating one or more action items based on the one or more keywords. The method and system includes implementing Natural Language Processing (NLP) to identify the one or more keywords.

In accordance with the method and system, a caller initiates a call with one or more recipients using a communication device. The call may be one or more but not limited to a voice call, a video conference call, a teleconference call, and a web conference. The method and system listens to a conversation of the caller with the one or more recipients during the call to selectively identify one or more keywords. The identification of the one or more keywords may be achieved using Natural Language Processing (NLP). By identifying the one or more keywords, the method and system identifies context of the conversation and triggers one or more action items to be taken as a result of the conversation. The one or more action items may be taken based on user settings enabled by the caller wherein the user setting may be pre-defined rules defined by the caller to be enabled on current call or subsequent calls. The one or more action items may be one or more of, but not limited to, a calendar entry, a meeting invite, an email, a task, a note and an alarm.

The one or more action items may be enforced based on acceptance or dissent over a suggestion of either one of the caller or the one or more recipients during the call. For example, if a meeting is suggested to discuss an idea after which one or more recipients agree to join the follow-up meeting, then the follow-up meeting is created.

Alternately, if one or more recipients disagree to join the follow-up meeting, then the follow-up meeting is not created. Additionally, if a date is identified in the conversation, then the follow-up meeting may be created on the identified date. Further, if a location is identified in the conversation, then the location may be appended to the follow-up meeting. Furthermore, if a request for confirmation or follow-up is identified, then a suggestion for sending a pre-set message may be initiated. Also, if a name in the conversation is identified, then the method and system may suggest including the name as a participant in the follow-up meeting. The follow-up meeting may be generated with the above mentioned details.

Once the caller ends the conversation on the call, a summary of one or more action items to be taken based on the context from one or more keywords of th...
