Abstract

According to WHO road accident injuries caused an estimated 1.24 million deaths worldwide every year. There are millions of cars and motor vehicles (includes, buses, SUVs etc) in each country with basic modes of transportation and travelling. The control over speeds and accident prevention of these motor vehicles are available but not rigid and non-automatic mechanisms so as it can prevent and save human lives at a time when needed in fraction of few minutes if an accident happens. The technique dislcosed herein firstly details as a proactive measure on preventing speeding of motor vehicles with auto ticket/fine generation and issued to a driver. Further, it details features of an automatic mechanism in case of a road accident on how emergency response can be secured within minutes to save a human life.

Vehicle Accident Prevention and Emergency Response Mechanism

There are existing approaches available with limitations as mentioned below. In first part (Part 1) details the sequence of flow for Auto Speeding Ticketing mechanism. The second part (Part 2) describes the sequence of events for emergency response mechanism in case of an accident. In case of a severe accident IED (Integrated Electronic Device) gets activated along with vehicle airbag sensors & transmits data via IED capabilities to multiple systems including Fire, Police, Ambulance and "V2V" (vehicle-to-vehicle). It uses automatic initiation of a distress signal message on the IED satellite communication and acknowledgement (2 way communication).

Major limitations to existing approaches:

      1.Automatic speeding ticketing issuance in zones with speed limits not available.


2.Manual mechanisms with Cameras or Radar guns which do not work effectively and requires human intervention.

3.In case of accidents none rigid automatic fool proof transmissions to emergency vehicles(Fire, Police, Ambulance) available.

4.No integrated automatic mechanisms to provide first aid remotely to a driver in case of an accident.

5.No remote impact assessment methods for diagnosis available.
6.Sophisticated methods of transmission not available as integrated mechanisms in automobiles. (CPDP/Satellite)

Proposed Approach:

Part 1: Auto Speeding Ticketing (Sequence flow)


1.An "Integrated electronic device" (IED) (ref Diagram 1) which connects to multiple systems to track vehicle speed and alert various systems as and when needed.
