System and method to perform a financial action on actionable

notifications (mobile/web) with feedback

Abstract:

Most smartphone users use notifications for a variety of purposes ranging from usual alerts to reminders and sports. This invention aims at utilizing actionable notifications for performing financial actions using their mobile devices.

Detailed Description and Solution:

This invention helps small business owners to make quick and easy payments on the click of an actionable notification.

Small Business Owners often have to go through multiple steps before they can make payments in a usual scenario. Typical flow would be:

1. Check their books to figure out which payments are due today

2. Stop the task whatever they are doing

3. Login to the QuickBooksOnline (QBO) app or QBO web portal

4. Load all the details and select the specific payment that is due

5. Make the payment after verifying all the details (if the user is using a Google Glass, a voice authentication can be made, or if the user is using a phone other modes like facial recognition can be employed)

This is a context switch and entails a lot of delay before a payment can actually be made.

Consider the owner of a toy company, who needs to pay his/her utility bill on the 29th of every month and the raw materials bill on the 30th. The owner has saved all the details of these vendors and also his payment details on the QBO mobile app. So on the 27th of the month, the QBO server sends a push notification, which notifies him about his utility payment being due. The user will be to click on pay now, and directly proceed to the payment gateway screen in a single click. There is no hassle of opening the app, checking for overdue payments and filling in all the details. The SBO just needs to click pay and the invoice is delivered to his mailbox and he receives an immediate confirmation as well. Similar workflow repeats on the 28th when he is reminded about the raw material payment and gets a notification. This simplifies the life of the SBO very much and gives him the much needed time and energy to focus on his/her other important day-to-day tasks without worrying about overdue payments. The security of the application would be ensured by feedback mechanisms that can be incorporated (voice authentication - Google Glass or facial recognition - phone Camera)

Novel aspects:

There is no actionable notification, which leads to a payment in the current market. Though there are many apps which provide push notifications either on mobile or

notifications in web parlance, none of them complete the loop in terms of actually opening the app, pre filling all the details and offer the user an option to pay. The whole process can be easily carried out within a span of a single click in case of this invention.

The invention also reduces the burden of the Small Business Owner to re type all credentials and verify his entry by pre filling all his information. This information...
