Abstract

A fastening flap having a discontinuous mechanical fastener is disclosed. Discontinuous mechanical fasteners are typically attached to a carrier material (e.g., nonwoven sheet), and placed at the back edge of a disposable diaper.

Background

Mechanical hooks are widely used in wearable disposable absorbent articles to fasten such articles around the body of a person. In a typical configuration, a hook strip or patch on a fastening tab is attached to the rear waist position of a diaper or incontinence garment, and engages a loop attached on the backsheet (e.g., nonwoven backsheet) in the front waist region or engages to the nonwoven backsheet itself.

Description

Discontinuous mechanical fastener can be made by a conventional method such as slitting, slitting and expanding, and punching processes.
