Abstract

In the process of changing an existing sealing blade, it must be removed from the sealing station, which requires time for sealing position alignment and installation on a taping machine. As a solution, a sealing shoe conversion kit is designed for permanent attachment on the sealing station. Conveniently, this conversion kit includes a slot for inserting and removing an existing sealing blade. Furthermore, the sealing blade width is larger than an existing one, which can provide good sealing performance.

Sealing Shoe Conversion Kit for Taping Machine

In the process of changing an existing sealing blade, it must be removed from the sealing station, which requires time for sealing position alignment and installation on a taping machine. As a solution, a sealing shoe conversion kit is designed for permanent attachment on the sealing station. Conveniently, this conversion kit includes a slot for inserting and removing an existing sealing blade. Furthermore, the sealing blade width is larger than an existing one, which can provide good sealing performance (see Fig.
1).

The sealing shoe conversion kit includes:

1) Sealing base, used to support the inserting of an existing sealing blade. It is designed by following the size and shape of an existing one.

2) Set-screw, used to lock and unlock an existing sealing blade on the sealing base (see Fig. 2). There are 3 sets located at the top side of the sealing base.

Advantages include:

1) Material cost savings and reduction of change-over time by eliminating the need to remove the sealing shoe from the sealing station.

2) Resolve sealing issues such as low peel strength (cover tape open) and incomplete seal (bubble and gapping on seal lines) caused by carrier tape surface waviness.

3) Easy installation on the taping machi...
