Disclosed is a method and system for improving confidence in voice system search results by combining knowledge of a user's location with ratings or feedback services to rank returned results. The method and system enables a voice search system to provide a list of places that are in business or open based on location and timings of the user.

The method and system utilizes a location based search to suggest only valid recommendation for places to the user. The voice search system is utilized to determine the location of the user and fetch hours of operation for each place such as, but not limited to, a restaurant. A predictive system is utilized to determine if the user is able to reach the restaurant on time. Here, the method and system determines whether the business is still running based on a defined two-way communication channel that provides a predictive capability by notifying the user whether the place will still be open, when the user reaches the place. For example, the voice search system determines that the user is 14 miles away from the restaurant, and the predictive system determines that the user may need 32 minutes to reach to the restaurant based on a traffic pattern. Here, the voice search system fetches the hours of operation which is used to predict if the user is able to reach the restaurant before closing time. If the user is not able to reach before the closing time, then the restaurant is removed from the list of places recommended by the voice search system. The method and system can additionally, flag the restaurant name to indicate that the restaurant will not be open when the user reaches the restaurant. Here, the timing issue arises when one of a business or the restaurant is no longer in operation at the location specified because of shut down or relocation and the user is unable to travel and arrive at a location in time.

In a scenario, the predictive system performs predictive analysis to allow the user to know if eating at the restaurant is feasible according to multiple factors. For instance, the predictive system notifies the user about a delay of a pit stop on the user's actual trip based on timing aspects. For example, the method and system is able to determine that the user is heading to an airport based on flight timings and then estimates a delay when the user takes a meal at a restauran...
