Abstract

The below proposed idea is a technique for automated determination of users, identify their likes/interests and display advertisements accordingly. The aim is creating a trend based on users’ likes/interests and display an advertisement that is relevant to majority of users.

Today, most of the advertisers make use of crowd gathering places such as markets, traffic signals, etc to publicize their product and draw attention of the users with the help of huge banners, hoardings, posters, etc. Now even though these huge banners, hoardings, posters etc might succeed in drawing the attention of the users, but it is very unlikely that these advertisements would be relevant to all or atleast majority of the crowd. Inturn, there is a possibility of a loss of business to the advertisers in case the advertisement doesn’t reach out to appropriate and intended target audiences.

Disclosed is a technique for identifying likes/interests of user’s and displaying advertisements based on the likes/interests of majority of users’ at any point of time.

If we can know the interests / likes of majority of the users gathered at a specific place, it would make much more sense and be more advantageous to advertise about those products that is of interest to majority of a crowd.

The aim is determining the interests / likes of users based on their social existence and track the location of users with the help of GPS positioning system to identify and create a trend by mining the data gathered by all the users at a specific location near to the digital advertisement board and finally advertising those products/events that are relevant to majority of the users. In this case, as and when different users with different interest approach digital advertisement board, the trend will also change and the digital advertisement board will also keep changing the advertisements accordingly.

In this way, the advertisers will be able to target the relevant audience in a much better, efficient and beneficial manner with utmost possibility of success.

The known solution focuses on provides for a digital projection advertising display where as the proposal aims at identifying the target audience automatically based on their interests and likes and advertising only those products that are more relevant to the masses.

The known solution is static in nature i.e a central monitoring is required where as the proposal p['] is dynamic and automatic. The contents on the digital advertisement board changes as and when the users near to the digital advertisement board changes.

Summary :

The proposal is to work on the principle of identifying the interests of a user and crowd-sourcing the data to identify a trend based on which an advertisement would be displayed. This ensures that the advertisement is communicated to most appropriate and intended audience. By tracking multiple users at a location where digital advertisement board is installed, we can analyze and determine a trend say "X% of users are interested in Y so display an advertisement related to Y".

Note : For digital advertisement board to display a relevant advertisement, it should be fed with required advertisements. This would be a pre-requisite of the

proposal and can be customized based on the vendors' advertisements.

The proposal is to monitor all the users at a specific location to capture the interests of the users. As and when users approach the digital advertisement boards, it is obvious the trend of interests of the users will vary. Further, various data would be collected like what is the interest of each user, prioritizing those interests based on history of the social existence of the u...
