The current gasification quench ring configurations have many concerns.  They may be unable to handle or eliminate thermal mismatch stress, manufacturing tolerance, different vendor produced connection pipes and clamps.  They also may not have an adequate damping system in the structural assembly system locally.  A high temperature, high pressure and leakage proof connection device will help to eliminate these concerns.

The following are innovative applications to gasification quench rings that may assist in decreasing the concerns.  Creating flexible and variability suppressors in to the system that bellow at the end to create certain degrees of assembly freedom if there are misalignment concerns. 

Using a telescopic adjustable length quench ring pipe to create flexibility and adjustable length to eliminate thermal stress and damp out vibration, while using flexible pipe to avoid pressure vessel and quench ring misalignment. 

Use of hand cuff clamps to replace the gray lock clamps to eliminate thermal differential induced stress due to pressure vessel and gasifier quench ring vertical thermal displacement mismatch.
