The digital world and the advent of online social networks are moving society toward a less physical social life. Although people make friends through online social networks and follow friends' activities, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find people who are interested in the same hobbies and organized events.

A tool is needed that automatically organizes events based on the interests of a social network user .

The novel contribution is a system that finds relevant activities for a social network user and then organizes and invites people to social events based on identified interests, proximity, and available time. The system applies a user's profile information along with information it discovers about the user's activities, interests, and calendar events. It matches that information with items found in an internal database of social activities, through map services, and with search engines.

The system uses an engine to collect user information, which includes but is not limited to the user's profile (e.g., age, interests, education, location, hobbies, etc.), social network activities and posts, and a calendar events. The system monitors the calendar to identify trends in user availability and behavior (e.g., user awakes early in the morning, attends evening events, has afternoons free of activities, etc.).
