Description

In current well known techniques an Advertisement (Ad) image or Ad script is fetched from an Ad Server by a client-side Ad Renderer and the client-side renderer makes the entire image or script part of the viewable Ad.  The script or Ad becomes a static display unit while the user interacts with the App or Webpage.  For example, Moneyball Ads are simple native Ads that are rendered along with an infinite stream of content on a mobile device, but they are intrinsically static Ads.

Disclosed are a system, method and graphical user interface renders a fixed-size slot or window within an infinite stream of content.  The window reveals a portion of a background image.  When the stream of content is scrolled, the slot moves along with the stream of content, revealing different portions of the background image.

The disclosed embodiments of the method and system, although illustrated herein within a smart phone implementation, feature cross-device compatibility among devices such as a mobile device, laptop computer, tablet device, personal computer (PC), and others.  Through the use of the graphical user interface, a user may easily navigate among different information sources, such as content from a Mobile App, a Mail App, or a Webpage, while viewing teaser portions of the background content.  The background content, although illustrated herein as an Advertisement (Ad), can also include other content such as maps, weather updates for the user's location, an image gallery, and other forms of content.

In addition, the graphical user interface according to the disclosure is configurable, enabling the user to selec...
