Abstract

Flexible Removable Wall Hook with adhesive backing. The construction can be a double coated tape with a treated PET carrier and the removable wall side adhesive is formulated to have high cohesive strength with medium adhesion. The adhesive may be filled with inorganic fillers to reduce adhesion and increase cohesive strength, or it can be a single layer transfer tape. The novelty in this disclosure is the use of a semi rigid hook or article that can be flexed in a necessary direction so that it can be removed from the desired substrate. The material and design of the hook/article would be necessary for it to maintain flexibility when bent away from the substrate, but able to hold the weight of a desired mass in the vertical plane. The flexibility of the article can reduce the breakaway adhesion from the substrate and allowing for clean and damage free removal This invention would be useful for application of a hook or hanger to a variety of substrates to allow for temporary fixation. The semi rigid use of the hook would allow the article to be cleanly removed when the need for the article ceases. The construction of the article could be as simple as a composition of nylon, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and PET. By optimizing the balance between the flexural strength of the hook and the adhesive properties, a removable system can be created.
