A method and system is disclosed for configuring a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) subsystem with replaceable sub-components and interfaces for one or more storage enclosures. The method and system includes packing and modularizing one or more interface cards, one or more fan modules and one or more Management/RAID subsystems into a concurrently replaceable package.

Disclosed is a method and system for configuring a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) subsystem with replaceable sub-components and interfaces for one or more storage enclosures. The method and system includes packing and modularizing one or more interface cards, one or more fan modules and one or more Management/RAID subsystems into a concurrently replaceable package.

In accordance with the method and system, one or more plugable and replaceable interface cards are added to a Management/RAID Subsystem as illustrated in Fig. 1.

Fig. 2 illustrates addition of one or more plugable replaceable fan modules that are plugged to the Management/RAID Subsystem from a first end of the Management/RAID Subsystem.

A fully populated Management/RAID Subsystem with replaceable one or more interface cards and one or more replaceable fan modules is illustrated in Fig. 3.

The fully populated Management/RAID Subsystem may be installed into a mechanical enclosure wherein a second end of the Management/RAID Subsystem is inserted into the mechanical enclosure as illustrated in Fig. 4.

Thus, the method and system described herein, assists in maintaining a Management/RAID Subsystem by providing replaceable sub-components that are easy to install, remove and configure.
