System and Method to Select and Align Audio Content with Video Events

Many users create videos (e.g., sports highlight videos) on personal computers and devices, and set music to the video. Videos with music are much better when the music is timed to coincide with events in a video; however, this is difficult to accomplish.

A method is needed that assists the user in finding best music to fit with events in a video and further adjust placement of portions of video to better align with the music.

The novel and non-obvious system and method recommend music based on what best aligns with events in a video and alters events in a video to match the music.

To implement the system and method to select and align audio content with video events in a preferred embodiment:

1. Identify a desired type of event, or multiple events in a tier, as the "core" (i.e. a short segment of a video in which an action happens) to which to align throughout the video (e.g., basketball going through a net, or spins in a dance routine, etc.)
