Abstract

A digital goods purchase system provides a streamlined purchase of digital goods. The system receives a scanned code associated with a digital good to be purchased by a user. On receiving the scanned code, the system identifies a unique digital good ID and a cryptocurrency payment address included in the scanned code. The cryptocurrency payment address is the address of a seller’s payment gateway where the payment for the digital good has to be remitted. Further, the system verifies that a cryptocurrency wallet linked to the user has sufficient funds to carry out a transaction to purchase the digital good. On completion of the verification, payment for the digital good is remitted from the cryptocurrency wallet to the seller’s cryptocurrency payment address.

ABSTRACT 

    A digital goods purchase system provides a streamlined purchase of digital goods. The system  receives a scanned code associated with a digital good to be purchased by a user. On receiving the  scanned code, the system identifies a unique digital good ID and a cryptocurrency payment address  included in the scanned code. The cryptocurrency payment address is the address of a seller's payment  gateway where the payment for the digital good has to be remitted. Further, the system verifies that a  cryptocurrency wallet linked to the user has sufficient funds to carry out a transaction to purchase the digital  good. On completion of the verification, payment for the digital good is remitted from the cryptocurrency  wallet to the seller's cryptocurrency payment address. 

 

PROBLEM STATEMENT 

    As online shopping becomes increasingly popular, there is a need to provide a better Internet  shopping experience that is more accessible and seamless to a customer. Current Internet shopping  protocols requires the customer to perform the laborious steps of accessing a website or an application  store, viewing products and/or digital goods, choosing a product and/or a digital good for purchase,  selecting a delivery option, providing payment information, and authorizing the purchase. Often, the  customer also has to fill­in his payment information, e.g., credit card and bank account information, on  online forms to complete the transaction. Furthermore, current Internet shopping protocols require payment  gateways that incur transaction fees. A system to purchase digital goods that reduces transaction fees and  improves user experience is described.

DIGITAL GOODS PURCHASE SYSTEM 

    The systems and techniques described in this disclosure relate to a digital goods purchase system  that facilitates the purchasing of digital goods. The system can be implemented for use in an Internet, an  intranet, or another client and server environment. The system can be implemented locally on a client  device or implemented across a client device and server environment. The client device can be any  electronic device such as a mobile device, a smartphone, a tablet, a handheld electronic device, a wearable  device etc.
