Abstract

The present invention proposes a technique to measure pressure and control frequency in a bubble continuous positive airway pressure continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. The technique includes a bubble CPAP continuous positive airway pressure (PEEP) generator with a PEEP tube in the bubble CPAP therapy. The PEEP tube includes a motor with an algorithm based on pressure measurement to control frequency of PEEP generated during the bubble CPAP therapy.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The invention generally relates to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy and more particularly to a bubble CPAP positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) generator for bubble CPAP therapy.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Generally, a bubble continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy requires frequent attention and intervention of a caregiver to control pressure. In the bubble CPAP therapy leaks in a tube are not detected which results into inefficient pressure flow.

A conventional technique includes bending a tube to create different frequency of bubbling.

However, the conventional technique does not allow real time frequency modification in the bubble CPAP therapy.

It would be desirable to have an efficient technique to allow real time frequency modification in the bubble CPAP therapy.
