Abstract

The current connection method and device of connecting shielded high power cables is done in a cave for a spare wheel in a car. This method has some drawbacks. The cables come from different areas of the car to this position for been connected. These connections involve the + and - terminals and a shielding. While connecting the cables and shielding some screws has to be provided and screwed to fasten the contact parts of the cables. The contact parts have to be adjusted in the correct position to take the screws into the openings of the contact parts. The assembly process takes some time. To speed up the assembly process a connector HV system is disclosed. The connector system comprises two connector bodies that are adapted to be plugged together. Both connector parts have contact means to connect the + and – cables. The connectors are, after plugged together, finally saved with a screw that keeps the connector parts together. The screw has the additional function to connect the shielding of the cables and it compresses at the same time the seal to keep water and dirt outside. Because the cables with the pre-assembled connectors only need to be plugged together and finally screw one screw to fix the connection, the assembly process is much faster and easier than the state of the art process.

Description of the invention

To speed up the assembly process a connector HV system is disclosed (figure 2 – figure 5). The connector system comprises two connector bodies (figure 2, figure 3) that are adapted to be plugged together. Both connector parts have contact means to connect the + and – cables. The connectors are, after plugged together (figure 4, figure 5), finally saved with a screw that keeps the connector parts together. The screw has the additional function to connect the shielding of the cables and it compresses at the same time the seal to keep water and dirt outside. Because the cables with the pre-assembled connectors only need to be plugged together and finally screw one screw to fix the connection, the assembly process is much faster and easier than the state of the art process.
