Automatically Act to Prevent an Incorrect Product From Being Shipped

Described is an invention that will dynamically alert and check for hardware and rules updates prior to general releasing the order to the field. This is possible by implementation of an integrated, web-based, or stand-alone application/tool/device to detect and visually alert when there is an out-of-date version of hardware or configuration rules being used.

1) user makes changes to the feature code, configuration rules, engineering change or part number, and identifies the change:
- feature code
- part number
- engineering changes
- configuration logic

- other mechanism to identify change
2) application/tool/device gets triggered on changes
3) application/tool/device checks to see if change is pre-general availability
4) application/tool/device checks to see if change is order-able by the customer
5) if change is order-able, then the application/tool/device searches the order database to find out if there are any orders that matches the change
6) application/tool/device automatically flags the order to be on hold
- visually flag by communicating with an RFID with LED
- visually flag by communicating with Near Field Communication (NFC) with LED
- visually flag to a hand held device
7) the user checks the flagged order to make sure the new change is implemented or else by-pass it if it is an internal order
- e-mail or another form of communication is sent to the user for notification
