Disclosed is a method and system for reducing response time of emergency personnel by facilitating vehicle to vehicle communication between an emergency personnel and a patient.

In accordance with the method and system, it is assumed that every vehicle is fitted

with multiple sensors to determine and detect vitals of passengers travelling in a

vehicle. If a passenger (patient) is detected to have an emergency medical condition based on data sensed by the multiple sensors, the vehicle displays a notification alerting the passenger of the emergency. Accordingly, the vehicle switches on an emergency mode unless the passenger selects otherwise.

Alternatively, the passenger may also initiate the emergency mode by push of a button or a command.

Once the emergency mode is initiated, the vehicle contacts local dispatching teams regarding the emergency and provides all necessary information of the passenger and location of the vehicle. In a scenario, where there are additional passengers in

the vehicle. A call can automatically be routed to emergency personnel who can

assist the passenger by gaining additional understanding of the emergency. The additional information can be sent to emergency responders to facilitate better medical care. For instance, if the emergency is related to an infant, a neonatal care unit can be sent in addition to an ambulance.

Based on the location information of the vehicle, the system can route the vehicle to a nearest emergency dispatch unit such as an ambulance or a hospital. In a scenario, wherein an ambulance is also on the move, the system finds a convenient meeting point for the vehicle and the ambulance.

While the emergency mode is active, the system proactively looks out for doctors/physicians who may be in proximity to the vehicle. In a scenario when the system determines that a doctor/physician is in proximity, the system notifies the doctor/physician about the emergency.
