Disclosed is a method and system for controlling dissemination of unviewed content by evaluating an effect of at least a portion of the unviewed content on user experience.

In an implementation, the method initially determines one or more content consumed by a user. For example, a user may watch television shows, video/audio streams or read text content.

Thereafter, the method determines an interest level of the user for each of the one or more content. Determining the interest level can include identifying a consumption pattern for each of the one or more content based on one or more of, but not limited to, a time period / frequency of content consumption and a content source used for the content. Determining the interest level can also include analyzing content associated with the user such as postings made by the user on social channels. The content associated with the user can be analyzed based on one or more of, but not limited to, quantity, length and involvement of other users

with the content. Determining the interest level can also include analyzing one or more conversations of the user with other users, wherein the one or more

conversations can include, but need not be limited to, Short Messaging Service (SMS) message, phone calls and chat messages.

In accordance with the implementation, the method further determines a content to be tracked. The content may be a media, which may have spoiler content. Here, the method may take a user input regarding which content the user has not yet viewed. Alternately, the system can dynamically determine if the user has consumed the content.
