A method to undo/recall a placed call

People inadvertently dial the wrong numbers and there is no way you can undo/recall a wrong phone call.

In the workplace where people use an IP phone (i.e. a Cisco phone), a person would normally use the following methods to place a new call:
· Enter the number using the dial pad to enter the digits then press the Dial softkey
· Lift the handset from the earpiece rest and enter the number using the dial pad to enter the digits.

· Press the NewCall softkey and dial the number using the dial pad to enter the digits.

Afterwards, if the dialed number is in the corporate or personal directory, the name of the person being called will appear in the LCD screen. Only then will the caller know if he called the right person. Upon knowing that he dialed the wrong person, he has the option to:
(a) wait for the called party to pick up the phone and apologize for the wrong call he made or,
(b) hang up. His call will then be reflected on the recipient's phone as a missed call. The person would return the call only to know that he received a wrong call.

The basic idea is to suggest a method on how to undo/recall a placed call.

The method described below is using a Cisco IP phone:

•Press the NewCall softkey and dial the number using the dial pad to enter the digits.

•Press the Redial softkey to dial the last called number.

•If using a headset, press the HEADSET button and dial the number using the dial pad to enter the digits.

•To use the speakerphone, press the SPEAKER button and dial the number using the dial pad to enter the digits.
