Abstract

A single layer flexible polyurethane foam comprises the reaction product of an isocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component. The isocyanate-reactive component may be a polyether polyol. The isocyanate component may be MDI, TDI, or a combination thereof. The isocyanate component and the isocyanate-reactive component are reacted in the presence of a polyurethane gel, an encapsulation comprising a temperature regulating material, and a thermochromic pigment. The single layer flexible polyurethane foam exhibits minimal temperature fluctuations due to the polyurethane gel and the encapsulation comprising a temperature regulating material. The single layer flexible polyurethane foam also exhibits color change based on temperature fluctuations due to the thermochromic pigment.
