A method and system is disclosed for dynamically generating one or more playlists based on a user’s current mood and an amount of time specified by the user.

Description

Disclosed is a method and system for dynamically generating one or more playlists based on a user’s current mood and an amount of time specified by the user.  One or more playlists can include, but need not be limited to, videos and audios.

The method and system generates one or more playlists based on user information such as, but not limited to, playlist duration, current mood, past interests/ preferences and social network signals from the past.  The user information can be collected directly or indirectly from the user.

In an embodiment, the method and system enables the user to select the current mood by displaying a broad list of categories representing different types of moods on a website.  The different types of moods can be, but not limited to, funny, sporty, gossipy, mushy, serious and not-so-happy.  The method and system also enables the user to specify an amount of time the user can spare for watching one or more videos or listen to one or more songs.  Thereafter, the method and system searches a database for one or more videos / songs based on the current mood of the user and the amount of time specified by the user in order to generate one or more playlists.
