Road Social Network for Enhancing Road Safety and Awareness

    Road safety and awareness applications and solutions are hot topics. One of safety and awareness application (refer FIG-1) on the market is popular because it is based on real-time traffic information collection technologies from users/drivers, users who are driving on the same roads. Such crowd sourcing solution allows users receive real-time traffic information from application providers.

    The key on above solution is kind of analytics on real time users' driving status and incident reports. However, the solution needs a well defined social network and at least one of centralized data centers to receive and update the traffic status. And, the most real time traffic incident analysis and report are relying on reports of subscribed and registered user's reports. If there are no enough subscribed/registered users, the reports will not reliable. So, it is questionable on "real time" traffic status because the accuracy and efficiency are contradictory on REAL TIME solution based on crowd sourcing. Therefore, it is necessary to define a new option for sharing real time traffic instances on road.
