Method and System for Providing a Power Cable Safety Device

Disclosed is a method and system for providing a power cable safety device in power connectors. The method and system utilizes a uniquely designed two piece safety collar that is configured to be mechanically attached to a thread attachment ring of the power connectors. This avoids potential hazard to a user while disconnecting the power cable from the DC (Direct current) server.

In accordance with the method and system, a uniquely designed two piece safety collar that is configured to be mechanically attached to a threaded attachment ring is provided. The threaded attachment ring holds two parts of the power connector together. The two piece safety collar includes two half assemblies and the half assemblies in a separated mode is illustrated in Fig. 1.

As illustrated in Fig. 1, item 1 may be a molded or machinery part. There are two identical parts of item 1 in a safety collar assembly. Additionally, item 1 includes threaded inserts that may be used by item 2 to attach the safety collar assembly to the threaded attachment ring. In an exemplary embodiment, item 2 may be one or more screws. The safety collar assembly is designed to accommodate either the one or
