[Background]

In the replication of IMS database, updating a segment without a key or a unique key cannot be correctly reflected in a target database. IMS does not output the pointer information which shows the position of the segment to IMS log (x'99' log), and replication products cannot reflect in the target database the change of data which is not in a x'99' log. Therefore, about the change of data which uses a pointer, it could be carried out outside of replications. For the customer, the use of the database call which performs the change of data using pointer information will be restricted to a database with the requirements for replication, and the application development towards the optimal service (especially performance side) will be barred. SSP which is the function born by the requirements for banking account processing is the function utilized with applications, such as detailed entry, to realize high-speed access to data, and uses pointer information.
