There are circumstances when a user wants to call a phone number of a recipient from the contact list but the recipient might have changed the phone number. The user may not have the changed phone number of the recipient. Thus, the user might end up wasting money to call or message an old incorrect phone number and face unpleasant experience.

Disclosed is a method and system for performing a preemptive action to validate a recipient before transmitting a communication. The method and system utilizes information from an account of the recipient registered by a service provider for validation.

Generally, each mobile device operated by a user is associated with an account. For example, the account can be associated with an operating system of the mobile device such as, but not limited to, a smart phone or a tablet. When the recipient changes the mobile phone number and no longer uses the old mobile phone number, the account activity associated with the old mobile phone number is suspended or inactivated. The method and system utilizes information in the account of the recipient to validate the  recipient without a need to validate the actual mobile phone number of the recipient from a carrier.

The information of the recipient is validated to check if the mobile phone number of the recipient is active or inactive by requesting the recipient. If the account of the recipient with the requested phone number is registered longer than the requesting check time, and if the account of the recipient is active, then the recipient's phone number is still a valid number to proceed with call or a message. If the account of the recipient has not been used by the recipient for a certain period of time, then the recipient's phone number is an invalid number. Further, if the recipient has unregistered a mobile device from the recipient's account associated with the old phone number, then the recipient's phone number is considered to be an invalid number.

If the method and system determines that the phone number that the user is trying to reach is not with the requesting recipient anymore, then the method and system alerts the user with the message.
