Natural Language Distribution Lists

The number of methods to create or read information (e.g., online social networks,

wikis, mail, events, etc.) provides many ways to share the information with multiple individuals and types of groups. Managing the audience is an arduous task; a user must add, remove, and fine-tune the distribution of information. Following the most current information or maintaining awareness of critical events is also sometimes difficult.

A method or system is needed to address the dynamic ways in which users

distribute and consume content.

The novel contribution is a system that optimizes the creation of distribution lists by analyzing the natural language of artifacts created by a user, generating a model, evaluating the model against the entire system of user-generated content, and then automatically establishing a distribution list for the common model elements. Finally, the system posts any user content matching the model to that distribution list.

The system can also work in the reverse: based on the identification of a user not in the natural list, augment the user's profile in order to better model future distribution lists. This affect may be used by future services in order to determine future distribution lists.
