Abstract

The nets stretched in airplanes, especially in cargo space, to hold some objects, such as luggage, are hooked on aircraft structure by metal elements that can damage the structure when the net is expanded to be stored. The described solution proposes to add elastic bands transversely and parallel to the grid of the net to guide the movement of the net when it is relaxed and prevent shock of the metal elements on the structure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM

Within aircraft, there are several places, especially in storing place such as cargo floor, where a net is used to maintain some objects, such as luggage, decrease injuries caused by a luggage fall.

Often, a net is composed by two parts, which are attached to the surrounding structure by fixation means such as metallic hook.

The net is closed on the objects to be maintained by locking together the two parts, in a deployed position, on the objects by locking devices (see figure 1).

To reach the objects, the two parts are unlocked and so fall down (see figure 2) against the surrounding structure of the storing place.

Cause of the movement, the locking devices (and the fixation means) can knock the surrounding surface such as the skin of the fuselage These impacts can create some damages which require operations on the aircraft (such as repair, painting, etc…)
