Method of aggregating and tracing collaboration life cycle management record data for different target profiles

Disclosed is a method of aggregating and tracing collaboration life cycle management record data for different target profiles.

Ultimately the goal of a software vendor is to make clients happy enough to buy (and continue to buy) their software. In this article, return on investment (RIO) may be considered a measure of happiness. Tracking ROI through simple aggregation of a special field in child records of a requirement is not sufficient. The problem is that ROI is specific to a target adopter of the software. One client may find benefit from an application that requires a lower cost skill set while another user may find benefit in aggregated logs. Other metrics such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) are evolving metrics which also may differs between customers. These are examples of metrics that may be aggregated (via parent/child relationships) and applied to different profiles. This aggregation of data to different profile models is tracked throughout the entire development life cycle.

The key benefit of tracking is assisting with an understanding of how stories are affected by changes in ROI. If cost of labor is increasing for clients, the product manager can understand which stories (implemented, currently being developed, and in plan) affect that metric.

Additionally, the disclosed method guides the implementer of stories/requirements to make cho...
