Abstract

The present invention includes a technique that allows support team to remotely visualize site information and problem indicator. The technique includes incorporating three dimensional (3D) modules into software with detailed structure into magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. The 3D modules are such that they possess exactly same layout and structure as that of the components of MRI system. In case any problem arises on single component or several components, error is highlighted on 3D module. The support team examines each component and also examines several components and interaction between the components that have the problem. The technique builds up linkage between each module and errors associated with the components and synchronize modules and corresponding errors every time. Further, the invention includes a detection technique to identify cable connection status.

BACKGROUND

The present invention relates generally to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system and more particularly to a technique for assisting remote troubleshooting of problems in any component of MRI system.

Generally, field engineers working on site resolve problem that arises in any component of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. In case, on site field engineers (FE) at level one and level two are not able to resolve problems present in one or several components of MRI system, then the problem is escalated to level three and level four for assistance. Level three includes zone support and level four includes engineering team present at a remote location with respect to the MRI system. However, such remote support is very ineffective. Also information between site and back office at remote location is always a mismatch and misunderstood. This results in a long troubleshooting time and replacement work. In addition, there is additional travel and on site labour cost required for resolving problem in any component of the MRI system.


It would be desirable to have an efficient technique that provides site information and problem indicator to be visible remotely to support team.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention includes a technique that allows support team to remotely visualize site information and problem indicator. The technique includes incorporating three dimensional (3D) modules into software with detailed structure into magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. The 3D modules are such that they possess exactly same layout and structure as that of the components of MRI system. In case any problem arises on single component or several components, error is highlighted on 3D module. The error is reflected using light emitting diode (LED). Subsequently, support team observes the error remotely.

The support team also selects different views accordingly. For example, one problem may be related with several components. The support team then examines each component and also examines several components and interaction between the components that have the problem.
