The deregulation of the energy market has led to the development of new business processes that require data to be exchanged between various companies (supplier and distributor for example). Whenever there is a change of supplier process in a deregulated energy market, we need to consolidate all the data related to a switch process in one place and execute various business processes.
The complexity exists in execution of these business processes and that too in a logical sequence.
The standard SAP provides a mechanism to document the status of the deregulated process thru' "Switch document" Tcode - ESWTMON01. Switch Document is the object used to control and document the change of supplier process.
Drawback of Existing Solutions

Need for New Solution
Therefore there is a need for a centralized tool that will help not only in recording the statuses , related activities , messages in Switch Document but also allow executing these complex business processes under one roof.
In an energy market, typically there are 3 prime processes -
- New Registration / New Connection
- Change Of Supplier
- Withdrawal / Disconnection
- Meter Reading, Dispute Reads etc.
All these processes can be accessed and executed thru' a single dialog window or transaction using "Switch Document Workbench" tool.
