Technique to enhance calendar functionality of mail applications

eMail clients are used widely as a communication channel for daily to daily communication. Calendar is one of the key functionality for the email applications. Multiple calendar invites are sent everyday to set up meetings.

Currently, there is no way to verify if a duplicate calendar invitation has been sent in an email client. Some of the business cases are discussed here. Ex: A user has a repeated call with a person every quarter and the call is very important. But somehow you are not sure if you have set up the call or not.
