Methods to Create Tactile Feedback for Projected Keyboards

Projected keyboards [1] currently do not have a method to apply tactile feedback to the keyboard user. Tactile feedback is a crucial function for the user to increase typing accuracy and speed.

No known solutions were found that provide tactile feedback to a projected keyboard user.

    Tactile feedback elements can be incorporated into wirelessly connected "gloves." The tactile elements can be activated via the finger tracking methods currently incorporated in projected keyboards [2]. The goal is to provide tactile feedback when the user is centered on a "key" and to provide a change in feedback as the user moves from key to key. The advantage to this device is that traditional tactile feedback from a conventional keyboard is simulated for projected keyboards. This will allow the user to type more accurately, increase typing speed, and to be able to locate their hands on the keyboard without looking away from the screen.

    The disclosed device is a glove that provides tactile feedback to a user of a projected keyboard. The gloves utilize an inflatable/deflatable microfluidic chamber that creates a "key" like tactile feature (referred to as "bump") on the user's finger when they are over a key.
