Smart Commerce Mobility Using Region Profiles

A nation's infrastructure, including roads, waterways, telecommunications and access to adequate and reliable transportation, influences the ability to conduct commerce and enable business growth. Existing commerce systems do not take into account the lack of infrastructure on certain continents such as Africa. In addition, existing systems target a certain population but do not consider a product with a region-based enterprise business model. Small-scale models that provide door-to-door sales take into account various factors that impact the sales in a specific region.

The system disclosed herein (the "Smart Commerce Mobility System") provides a business model for conducting commerce in underdeveloped areas of the world based on Region Profiles. Region Profiles are defined through a set of static and dynamic attributes populated with real-time data feeds. Region Profiles are integrated with an optimization analytical engine (the "system analytical engine") to provide Region Models matching business requirements. The disclosed system uses the data sets of a Region Profile to identify needs of buyers in specific regions (e.g., Africa and Asia).

Region Profiles make use of machine-learning and advanced analytics capabilities. In remote regions where supply is low and demand is high, Region Profiles predict customer needs and deliver goods and services in real time. In saturated markets, Region Profiles can provide information including geographic and census data, updates about region specific events, weather reports, and customer data. Customer data may be derived from current trends, previous purchases, and social media. Region Profile dimensions are flexible so that new metrics can be added and existing metrics can be modified to better reflect changing markets. Data from Region Profiles evolves and provides a basis for creating new Region Profiles.

Region is defined as a set of geographical and business entities characterized by Region Profile attributes. Region Models include sets of regions associated with similar Region Profiles. The analytical engine provides an association between region entities and Region Profile attributes, and applies analytical tools to generate an optimized Region Model targeting business applications and various use cases.

The Smart Commerce Mobility System provides informational and business decision support in multiple business applications:


• Prediction of customer demand based on the analysis of the current trends and previous purchases


• Real-time data streaming about region weather conditions applied to modify delivery routes and schedules


• Region Profile details applied for more effective marketing including cultural elements and region specific demands in the inventory prediction
