Disclosed is a method and system for allowing simultaneous hands free processing of information during an in progress phone call. The method and system performs simultaneous hands free processing by running a background application in mobile devices in conjunction with an in progress phone call. The application running in the background provides users the ability to dictate information in real time that can be stored on mobile devices apart from actual phone conversation.

In accordance with the method and system, the application works as a real time digital assistant to the users while on phone conversation. The digital assistant application

works as a dormant until a phone call is in progress and continuously monitors the state

of the mobile device. Subsequently, when a phone call is in progress, the digital assistant application switches to active mode and waits for specific user commands to initiate the process of recording required information.

Consider an exemplary embodiment, as illustrated in FIG. 1, when a user A places a

call to user B to assist user B with contact details of user C. The digital assistant application running in the mobile device of user B then waits for command phrases from user B such as, for example, "assistant; store contact information". The digital assistant then waits for further commands from user A such as, for example, "assistant; record contact phone number start".
