Problem Definition:

As world population is growing, queue for services is growing in almost every field. Getting a confirmed status for availing a service has become difficult, which leads to multiple waitlist bookings for the same service by same person into over-allocation based booking systems.

Though multiple waitlist reservations are made, user will only use services under maximum 1 such reservation and cancel out the rest of them. Booking management system do not offer any way to end users to manage speculative bookings (i.e. multiple bookings to avail same service) smartly.

Currently, the user has to frequently monitor status of his/her speculative waitlist reservations and when satisfied with one confirmed reservation, cancels out all other waitlist reservations manually.

The process of cancelling out reservation(s) is completely manual, which results in many issues..

1. User has to constantly monitor status of his/her speculative waitlist reservations, so that he can cancel the waitlist reservations as soon as one of the reservation turn confirmed.

2. There is no option for user to prioritize amongst his multiple speculative pseudo reservations he made for availing same service

3. There is always possibility of multiple speculative reservations getting confirmed over a period of time. Missing on cancelling a reservation while it is in waitlist/unconfirmed state may attract higher cancellation charges later.

4. Longer the user(s) keep multiple waitlist reservations for same service, it becomes difficult for the reservation authorities/entities to plan capacity optimally

1. Automatic cancellation of lower priority unconfirmed reservation(s) once a higher priority reservation is confirmed, smartly automates the tiresome process of unconfirmed cancellation.

2. Delays in cancellation from user may result in low priority reservation(s) getting confirmed as well, thus resulting into higher cancellation charges. The smart processing

of cancellation takes care of such situations.

3. Sooner the cancellation happen, sooner the money is refunded.

4. This not only automates the cancellation process for them but also give authorities/enterprises better data points for further analytics and capacity planning.

1. This provision allows user to configure automatic cancellation of multiple redundant reservations, once the reservation with declared/derived higher priority gets confirmed.
