Abstract

A large mass (grey) is connected by a spring to a support (red). The large mass moves vertically in relation to the support, see arrow. A small mass (green) is suspended by springs (yellow) in a space that can be filled with fluid or grease (if necessary). The small mass acts as a tuned mass damper and reduces the resonance amplitude of the large mass.
