Abstract

1.The keyboard lay-out can be re-adjusted with the key rows directions according the setting of end user's habit on left or right hand to put the key rows on the right side or left side of screen. and NOT always put it on bottom side of the screen.

2.The keyboard area can be specified also manually by asking the end user to draw a outline arc with the thumb, then the auto-layout keyboard reallocate the position for each key based on the covering area drawn by the user's thumb.

3.The key learning system can record the typing touch area size automatically during the times period after the device is begin to be used. And this size will be used to draw a appropriate key size.

4.The key learning system can also specify some texts for typing, and the key size can be adjusted according to the touching area size measured. This helps the key size to work with different finger size.

5.The application specific keyboard learning system records the most frequent typed keys and store it to the application specific profile when the key frequency statistic feature is enable.

6.The most used keys from point 5 are placed in comfortable area of the thumb. So that they are easier to be touched.

7.The most used keys from point 5 are drawn with corresponding larger size. So, they are easier to be touched.

8.The keyboard profiles can be backup to cloud side. So, when the mobile device is reset to original configuration or another new mobile device is used by end user. It can be restored back.

On the smart mobile devices ,e.g. smart mobile phone, some kind of PAD .., most input devices are the virtual software keyboard. It provides the alphanumeric, digit and functional input. The alphabetic keys are arranged in QWERTY layout which comes from traditional computer keyboard. But the user of traditional computer input the information with 10 fingers on the keyboard , however the mobile user input the information usually with the following ways:

1 left hand and the thumb, in this way the information is input by clicking

1 left hand thumb and right hand finger, in this way the information can be input by clicking , or drawing to recognize. 1 left hand thumb and right hand thumb, in this way, the keyboard is used by clicking.

As the device screen becomes bigger, to input with one hand gets more difficult. Because the scope is too far away to be touched by the thumb, and in some conditions, it's not possible to input with two hands.

Also the size of most keys of traditional QWERTY keyboard are designed to be of same size, and most mobile device screen is not that large,and the different person or human race (Asian, European ) might also have different thumb and finger size, and therefore, different touch area size. So, the even key size causes typo as single thumb is used. Because the key is too far or too small to click and incorrect key touch is detected.

To using different application, the end user can have different preference on keyboard. As writing a notes or short message, most of typing are alphabet.In social chatting,the emotional icons are more involved.By personal favorite,the user likes to use some keys first. such as: F, H, T, E, Y, S. So, putting those keys in the most easy touched place around the thumb brings big convenience to the user.

So, This disclosure introduces:

1.An auto-layout keyboard which can allocate the key rows direction to put the keyboard around the operating thumb for friendly single hand operation.

2.A Finger learning system to give the keyboard system to learn the touch area size of specific user,so,the keyboard system will adjust the key size for easy touching hitting.

3.A mechanism to record the application specific key typing frequency and adjusting the layout and key size to improve user experience .
