Abstract:

When doing a multi launch on PCL job, there is a risk that we do not know how much force drilling pipe toput on our tool string. This force can damage our expensive tools and cause lost time for operations.

Description:

When doing a multi launch on PCL job, we cannot know how much tension on the tools in real time, or the tension sensors is not sensitive than what we need. So, in this kind of operation, it can break our expensive downhole tools.  The crossover has holes on it, so driller can circulate mud through these holes and one calibrated spring put in the crossover.  When the tension on the tool string increase, the spring will be pushed, it will close the holes on the crossover. People will read the mud pressure increase immediately, then the operation can stop. It will protect our expensive tool string from damage.  The calibrated spring can change for different reading to fit for different tools.
