Title: Airless Tire‐Wheel for Compact Track Loader Suspension Idlers & Rollers
Figure 1 (see below): Perspective view of airless wheels used with a drive wheel and idler sets and roller sets arranged with a tracked vehicle track.
Description: As shown in the attached illustration and described below, an arrangement of airless tire‐wheels that replace the steel idler and roller wheels currently used in a suspension system of a tracked vehicle, is disclosed.
Examples of airless tire‐wheels designs include, but are not limited to: WO 2012160534 A1 (AN AIRLESS TYRE FOR VEHICLES), US 7143797 B2 (Airless Tire), US 7418988 B2 (Non‐pneumatic tire), and the commercially available
MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® Airless Radial Tire™ (including the SSL ALL TERRAIN for Skid Steer Loaders and the SSL HARD SURFACE for Skid Steer Loaders).
Figure 1 illustrates an endless track of a track assembly of a vehicle, such as a compact track loader, in a working position. As shown, a plurality of roller sets is arranged between a front idler set and a rear idler set. Each of the roller sets and idler sets shown consist of two airless wheels and a hub and axle arrangement. Together, the roller sets and the idler sets are disposed with a track frame assembly (not shown) and define the path on which the track moves. A drive wheel (or drive sprocket) is shown in an exploded position. The track frame assembly is attached to the vehicle (not shown).
