The present invention provides a technique for automatic selection of configuration for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. The technique includes software that detects MRI system country location through internet and auto select correct configuration for MRI. The software implements using a workflow that initiates with creation of database to map IEC edition version to different countries. Then a code is designed to implement different system configuration files.
The present invention relates generally to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system and more particularly to a technique for automatic selection of configuration for MRI system.
International electro-technical commission (IEC) publishes IEC 60601 as a series of technical standards for safety and effectiveness of medical electrical equipment. IEC 60601 version is updated and restructured per several years. Different countries require use of new version of the standard in different time. Further, certain requirements are different in new version and old version. For example, IEC60601-2-33 have different specific absorption rate (SAR) derating curve requirement in edition 2 and edition 3.
MRI design requires complying IEC version to which MRI product is sold to a user. There are two methods for configuring MRI design. The first is selection of strict requirement from old version and new version from IEC requirement. The MRI design is selected such that it meets strict requirement. Such a simple configuration does not require distinguishing version and countries. However, it is a challenge to select such a MRI design which always requires applying strict requirement. The second MRI configuration method includes setting version control and applying different version in different country. Such a method provides clarity to apply related IEC requirement version for MRI design. However, such method can be selected by field engineer (FE) or user. In case, the method is selected by FE, it has risk if a wrong configuration is set. In case the method is always selected by user, there is an increase in workflow and reduction in user satisfaction.
A conventional technique includes a system and method to automate service delivery of medical equipment to a user. However, the technique does not mention detecting countries. Also the technique does not automatically set configuration of MRI design.
It would be desirable to have an efficient technique to provide automatic selection of configuration for MRI system.
