Abstract

This idea discloses innovative way for supporting cutting blades on chopper system for shearing sugarcane into billets. As per this concept the old traditional arrangement of the blade support has been changed to make it more feasible for manufacturing and assembly. As per new concept, the blade support has been developed from circular plates preferably cut by a plasma cutting method. In this system, said circular plates are supported on a shaft and the welds are placed in the direction of force applied thus improving the strength of the system. The cutting blades are supported on the circular plates. This type of manufacturing requires, very less machining since the supports are plasma cut and thus reducing the machining time and setup time on machining center.
