Abstract

In the present idea, the pitch actuators, manifolds, accumulator submodule, and bearing are provided on a pre-assembled module, including the hub plate and the pitch ring/bar. Hereby tests can be performed on the module before installing it on the hub and any problems may be dealed with in a much faster and cheaper way.

Pitch pre-assembly

Normally a pitch system in a wind turbine is mounted as part of the standard installation in the wind turbine, one part at a time.

A problem herewith is that the system does not function, and therefore cannot be tested, before all elements are present. Hereby malfunctions might not appear until the pitch system is installed in the turbine, making repair or replacement expensive.

The present idea suggests assembly of pitch actuation parts, and performing tests on the assembly, before mounting it in turbine.

In the figures, the relevant elements are disclosed including a hub. Obviously the hub is not part of the idea, and it has therefore been X'ed. It will be clear to the skilled person that the remaining elements may be pre-assembled with the support of any suitable stand - such as one resembling a hub.

In the fig. to the left, some of the relevant components are the hub plate 24, the bearing 32, the pitch ring/bar 26, the accumulators 40 and the actuators 34. Obviously the present idea is not limited to the presently shown design, and a skilled person would be fully aware of possible variations with respect to which further co...
