As interaction with computer systems increases, adaptation of computer systems to a user's level of fatigue is required to ensure continued use of a computer system with an acceptable level of accuracy.

The present state of art includes systems that track the duration of time spent in using machinery (such as logbooks). No current art presents a concrete solution that allows a computer system to adapt to a user's needs during interaction with the computer system with varying degrees of fatigue over time.

The novel contribution is a method for changing characteristics of computer system based upon detection of user fatigue . The method and system monitor a user's interaction with a computer system. It calculates the user's fatigue based on data collected from sources such as:

Tracked keystrokes User behavior (e.g., degree of multi-tasking), Repetitive tasks performed (e.g., visiting the same websites)

   Gesture recognition Pupillary response Facial expression Biometric sensors
In response to detection of fatigue, the system takes an action based on the user's preferences. A pre-set list can contain actions such as changing music and changing the ergonomic setting at the workstation (e.g., chair, table, etc.). In addition, the system can present a list of actions for the user to perform to reduce fatigue , such as playing a game, performing eye exercis...
