Abstract

This brochure relates to various esters based on branched alcohols and their application. Specific attention is given to alcohols derived by hydroformylation of olefins obtained by Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process from synthesis gas. Ester based on these alcohols are characterized by unique features like high flash point, excellent low temperature properties, very low tendency to evaporate combined with good load carrying capacity, oxidative and hydrolytic stability. The combined features of these discussed products are key to high performance in formulations for many industrial applications like hydraulic fluids, crankcase oils, gear oils and greases to name only a few.
